Léman 2030
Capacity extension of the Geneva node
Expertise on passenger safety

Excellent news from the French part of Switzerland. Amberg Engineering has won the expertise mandate on passenger safety (Sachverständiger Sicherheit) for the major CFF project “Léman 2030” Capacity extension of the Geneva node for SIA phases 32 to 53.

The objective of the project is to double the seating capacity between Lausanne and Geneva and enable a quarter-hour cadence on the RER Vaud and the Léman Express, by 2030. The achievement of these objectives is based both on investments linked to the acquisition of new trains and the development of infrastructure. The stations of Lausanne, Renens and Geneva, currently saturated during peak hours, will be considerably transformed with new access, transit and commercial offer structures.

The subject of the mandate is the “main project”, the creation of an underground platform and its 2 underground tracks (approx. 6 km) under the existing Cornavin station. The volume of the project 1,600 MIO CHF. Our services will extend over the next fifteen years.

Says our Project Manager Marco Bettelini: "This is an assignment that we have been working hard to win and that we are, together with our subconsultant EBP, very well suited for, so this result represents great satisfaction."
